This bug was fixed in kvm-84 as published to hardy-backports and
intrepid-backports. If you're suffering from this bug, please try that
package.

Hello, I've just experimented this on a SMP guest (Ubuntu Hardy) on a
Ubuntu Hardy host running kvm-84 - guest not using virtio. Virtio seems
stable though.

Dustin,
it's still not fixed. Guests not using virtio have flaky network
connection. I need them to work, so I converted them to use virtio. Now
they work, for me, but the problem is not fixed, merely worked around.

Intrepid host, Debian etch and sid guests, and possibly other guests.
I've now converted all my guests to use virtio, and things seem to work
better, or at least "apt-get upgrade" no longer stalls if there's more
than one or two packages. I am currently running the kvm from your PPA
that I download
Sorry to hear that Lars.
Are you seeing the problem on Jaunty, or Intrepid? If Intrepid, can
you test with Jaunty's kvm?

Unfortunately, this seems to still happen to me with the fixed package.

I believe that this has been fixed for Jaunty. However, this is a
trivial fix for a *really* annoying problem, and should be SRU'd to
Hardy/Intrepid.
Marking as such.

Hi Lars-
There's an Intrepid test package for kvm in my PPA now:
* https://edge.launchpad.net/~kirkland/+archive/ppa
Please try that and let me know if you still experience the issue!

Well, speak of the devil... it just now started happening to me again,
intrepid host, lenny guest. 64-bit. Dustin, your packages are only for
hardy, though, so I can't test them.

Dustin, I'll butt in since I filed this bug report originally.
I've not ran into this in the past couple of months, running KVM on
intrepid. However, the physical hardware of the host has changed, which
may have influenced this.

Hi Yann-
Can you still reproduce this problem?
If so, can you reproduce it on:
a) Hardy
b) Intrepid
c) Jaunty?
I found one definite bug in the networking code. I have uploaded a test Hardy
kvm package in my PPA:
* https://launchpad.net/~kirkland/+archive/ppa
* kvm - 1:62+dfsg-0ubuntu9~ppa

Hello,
No it is not.. I am running KVM 62 (not 72) on Hardy 64, with hardy guests. I
have experienced sometimes eth0 errors, which didn't appear on the host, and
which didn't occur anymore once I moved the VM to virtio. But I never
experienced full connectivity loss...
I started to use KVM 72 f
I subscribed yannh to this bug a I believe he reported the same bug on

Yann, could you please confirm that is the same bug we talked about a
week ago?
