This patch sets the search directory to $HOME, if other one not
specified via --path argument. I believe that was author's planned
behaviour.

I fixed the issue simply by editing catfish.in and commenting out the cd
command. (see diff)

I can confirm that the default directory is indeed /usr/share/catfish.
This is a new installation of Xubuntu 8.04.1, installed all updates,
then upgraded to Xubuntu 8.10 using "update-manager -d -c".
