These should be fixed in intrepid, you might have forced something which
broke things. The packages depend on correct versions.

I ve been helping a guy having the same trouble after an upgrade to intrepid
he had this :

I am sorry, but I cant, because I completely reinstalled my system and it
seems working again after updating. At least sending the output of `lspci
-vvnn`.

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to
your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.
