Seems a recent update fixed this already, therefore closing this as Fix
Released, some other change seems to have fixed this as well.

manual setup don't work in knetworkmanage
Just wanted to add that, with today apt-get update/upgrade,
networkmanager and knetworkmanager seem to have a much better behaviour.
They seem to have understood what I was trying to do and now it marked
my eth0 as "Unmanaged" with a "Manual IP address".
I'm a happy man!
