Marvin, are you sure you aren't confused with fglrx, which isn't the
same as XGL? Since perhaps Hardy ati fglrx users aren't using XGL
anymore, I believe.

So users with an ATI video card cannot use Compiz? Or is XGL no more
needed for that? Anyway Ubuntu itself decides to use XGL when I select
the "Extra" option in the "Visual effects" tab of the "Appearance
Preferences" application.
