Invoking NetworkManager (from root) directly, when the issue happens, doesn't
run for me (NetworkManager goes in crash when I invoke it).
Tested always with Hardy.

Removing and adding the kernel module (for me cdc_ether as I don't use my
Broadcom for the Internet connection but I use a cell phone) doesn't run for me.
Next time I will try "sudo ifconfig usb0 up" as asked by Dimitrios.

philip, i suspect you'd be able to bring the interface up after resuming also
by typing "sudo ifconfig eth0 up", instead of removing and adding the kernel
module... can you please confirm?

I see this same problem with a newly upgraded Ibex, but with both the
wired and wireless connections. Even attempting to run wpa_supplicant
by hand on the command line won't work. I have to reboot the machine to
get the networking back.

I too tested this issue in my acert laptop (08:00.0 Ethernet controller:
Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM5787M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02).
The bug happens at around 1/3 of the suspends/resumes and if I do
ifconfig
I only see the "lo" interface. If I connect my cell-phone with a usb ca
