So...I reinstalled Hardy. It works fine. Put the Live CD back in for
8.10 Beta and same problemRunning in Low Graphics mode.

Same problem here.
1) After attempted update (used alt CD) from Gutsy. (ended up deleting Ubuntu
partition, Dual boot XPpro SP3
