This could be due to the new Xorg which uses HAL to configure devices like the touchpad. Try to locate the proper .fdi in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/ and place it in /etc/hal/fdi/policy/ You can edit the file to fit your needs as well. -- vertical displacement not working after migration to 8.10
