A proper fix for http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172042 has been
committed for KDE 4.1.3. We can remove our cruddy patch then and the fix
will be released in intrepid-updates along with KDE 4.1.3

it should be noted that as a temp fix it's possible to:
System settings -> Window Behavior -> Window-Specific Settings:
create a new rule for konsole new->detect press on konsole window
then change the size in geometry tab: apply initially to
something other than the current size.
