It is still very existing and real I'm afraid. As I am speaking xrandr
won't propose my 16:10 correct eitghter on hdmi or vga. Is the bug filed
in a wrong place since you've marked it as not needing to be fixed in
xorg (ubuntu)??

Status:
I've had it working earlier to day and all weekend yes. But after a
visit to Vista, it all broke. And I couldn't get it to work at all, just
a big mess. But after the update it worked again, but that might just be
a coincident.

hours to get my monitor and tv to work again, I and I haven't figured
out the trick. Just updated with todays updates though, maybe that was
it?

detects my 16:10 monitor as low resolution 4:3. Connect via VGA works fine.
I've found a trick for getting xrandr to propose the right resolution, and that
is to connect a lcd-tv 32" to the
two desktops on my tv (don't know why it does this)
