i linked this as a duplicate of a bug in the mail-notification project that
seems identical and has an attached patch.
(incidentally, i don't think they're duplicates as this bug refers to the
ubuntu packge
I'm experiencing this bug (as far as I think) on Ubuntu 8.10 with
Evolution 2.24.1 and Mail Notification 5.4. I enjoyed this
program/plugin very much on Ubuntu 8.04 with no problems.
I depend on this program for notification - is this bug being worked on?

Yeah, I thought so too.
Now I've tried with Valgrind, it seems it finds something interesting.
The bug has been reproduced with mail-notification already running and
waiting for evolution. Hope this will help.
