I solved a bit of this. The system time zone must be set to the preferred
weather time zone via system tools. For some reason, the system time zone
wasn't set to the right place. Now the weather report persists from session to
session.

I am affected by this in 10.04, so the issue still persists.

Yeah, and the upstream bug is moribund unfortunately (much like this
one). The reporter was asked for information, provided it and then
nothing more was done with it.

I'm experiencing the same, too. I'm using 8.10, but it was the same with
8.04. Attached is my clock configuration,

"If you remove the applet and add it again, it's expected to not work.
Are you sure it's happening when logging out and in again? Can you put the
gconf configuration of your clock here? It's in
/apps/panel/applets/{something}/prefs

Could you also provide that in

I am seeing the same issue with 8.10. I also had this problem with 8.04.
I checked the XML files in .gconf, and it shows one of the locations set
as current.

I can reproduce this. I created a test user and did nothing with the
account but log in, click on the clock applet, create a location (NYC
LaGuardia Airport) and click on "set location" next to the location
listing in the clock applet's menu. I was prompted for my password to
set the system time, I
thanks for the report, could you reproduce the same with a new user
created on your system?
