Here's the information you requested. Its the last four lines of the bootup
with splash and quiet removed. Most of it pertains the the video, I think
that may be where the problem lies, although i do not understand the last
line:

Thanks for the reply. I already tried it once with "verbose" instead of
quiet, but i left "splash" in. I will try again with pen and paper in hand
and try to record where it hangs.

Thank you for reporting this bug and trying to make Ubuntu better. Could
you please edit the boot options and remove quiet and splash. This
should boot up without a pretty ubuntu logo and progress bar but display
what is happening. Please look out and record any possible error
messages.
