Please perform the following commands:
sudo -s
cd /sys/power
echo core > pm_test
echo mem > state
This should test suspending your system without actually powering off.
See if it can at least do this.

This issue still exists in Ubuntu 10.04. I don't see any "hash matches"
lines in dmesg; all i got is:

If there are any other methods to get suspend to ram to work,
Bug still exists in karmic. If any additional information is needed i
