Kai,
I don't think the sound problem is related to the script. More likely
you require sound card model designation in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
guessing from online specs of the E6400 model try the command:
echo options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig | sudo tee -a
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

I just tried petri0's script on a Dell Latitude E6400 (X4500HD). Both suspend
and hibernate worked, it resumed successfully.
However, sound didn't work until /etc/init.d/alsa-utils was restarted. Fiddling

had no effect
Appears to be caused by multiprocessor concurrency control as described
in this forum post:

petri0's script fixed the problem on our X4500 based systems.

The bug doesn't seem to be related to drm, at least on my machine :
- I switched to console, stopped gdm (and thus X) and unloaded drm kernel
module.
- echo 1 >> /sys/power/pm_trace ; /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force

- on resume, hard drive led blincked a few times, but c
It seems it hit the same bug (latest intrepid, Sony Vaio BZ11XN + Intel GMA

- when I suspend, everything seems fine ; the machine shuts down and the
yellow led starts blinking.
- on resume, all kbd leds blink one time (kbd reset i
