I can't confirm this. The current version of synce 0.11-1 (yours is not
inside the sources of intrepid) can be uninstalled without problems.
$ sudo apt-get remove synce-trayicon
[...]
(Lese Datenbank ... 146172 Dateien und Verzeichnisse sind derzeit installiert.)
Entferne synce-trayicon ...
