The init script will also need to do a chmod g-w (or somesuch) on the
/var/run/munge directory after creating, because munge refuses to start
with a group-writable directory.

This is not a bug in dpkg, so reassigning to munge.
I'm not sure why the directory doesn't exist, because /var/run/munge is
shipped in the deb package (which is a bug in itself anyway). I propose
that the creation and chown of /var/run/munge is left to the init
script, similar to what has just hap
