I can confirm this. I'm using a Dell Studio 15 with Intel X3100. Compiz
runs just fine. When I started Google Earth it complained about falling
back to software accelerated OpenGL and it runs a bit slugish. If I
start it, it too throws out this error message: "Failed to initialize
TTM buffer manage

Also, the other similar bugs that discuss this problem mention issues
with compiz. In my case, compiz is running just right.
