defies the whole point of Kickoff/will never be made, so I'd say it's
safe to close this.

I'd say mark it Wishlist since the current approach is by design and see
if it proves to be a common complaint. I'd vote for making the classic
the default, but at least that's here in the bug for people to find.

You can use a KDE3-style menu by right clicking on the launcher icon and
selecting "Switch to Classic Menu style".
And trust me, I share your dislike of Kickoff. I just wonder how we could
resolve this bug in Ubuntu? The very nature of Kickoff is a one-pane type of
menu, so using something else
Yes, it's resizable, so I'm stuck with either it always huge or dealing
with scrolling. It's definitely less user friendly than the KDE3 version.
