try remove flash programmes in synaptic then installfrom source not
synaptic or youtube works fine rememberto get 64bit or 32 cependingon
system uname -a use the sh ./flash(tab) from the directory downloaded.

Just FYI,
flash works with Epiphany and Opera but not with Firefox and Galeon in
my system. I've bombed Kilz' sticky thread with questions and still no
way to get the Flash Player working under Firefox 3.

I think flashplugin-alternative.so is part of swfdec and should be
removed when flashplugin-nonfree is installed. If it isnt it is a
conflicting flash plugin.

the installer direct from adobe?
