In 0.3.10 in Kubuntu 9.10 the files have been renamed as to not conflict:
/usr/share/mimelnk/audio/amr.soundkonverter.desktop
/usr/share/mimelnk/audio/x-ape.soundkonverter.desktop
/usr/share/mimelnk/audio/x-bonk.soundkonver

Currently, I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron
and the soundkonverter package is from the Ubuntu Hardy repository
and the pacpl is from... no repository. I obtain the individual .deb and
install it with dpkg.
$ apt-cache policy soundkonverter
soundkonverter:
Instalados: 0.3.6-0ubuntu1

which version of soundkonverter do you use/which version is in the ubuntu
repositories?
as of version 0.3.7 i renamed those .desktop files. so an update should do it.
