In KDE4 I usually delete the descriptions in order to force KDE to
alphabetize the application icons by application name, and in doing
that, I discovered this bug.

I just set up Ubuntu on my new laptop. This time I chose to have Ubuntu
and Kubuntu at the same time. In kmenuedit, the entry duplication
problem still happens. Please see the screenshot I'm about to attach,
this is not just a few icons.

Hmm, I see dupes for Qt4 Designer and maybe one or two other apps, but
not all of them have dupes.

I doubt it, because there isn't a KDE3 version of Intrepid, and Hardy
(which did have a KDE3 and KDE4 version) did not have this problem. ALL
applications are duplicated in kmenuedit, not just the ones that have
KDE3 alternates.

Although still not really correct, it might well be that the two entries
are set for each of KDE3 and KDE4. I found it some time ago, after I
upgraded to KDE4 (while still having a lot of KDE3 applications
installed).
