@ranjan, you're using a completely different video card so must be
seeing some unrelated problem, and should file a new bug if it still
occurs on Jaunty.

I have same issue with Kubuntu 8.04
Many times it starts with low resolution 800 * 600 and I think this problem
started after I changed my resolution settings to 800 * 600 from
System Setting >Monitor and Display.
and then Back to normal.
O/P for lspci -vvnn is :

actually i found workaround for this problem.
i have used "nvidia x server settings" utility and had replaced
/etc/X11/xorg.conf with generated settings and now ubuntu always starts with my
preferred setting instead default.
