I can confirm that the update to 2.6.24-21.32 breaks fglrx. I think
there's no restricted-modules package for this version, and as a result
fglrx is "partly" loaded (the dreaded MESA OpenGL vendor). It is also
not shown in System-Hardware drivers (at all, not as loaded or
anything). I had to go bac

This update seems to fix wireless for me, but kills fglrx. Login goes
to gray screen, and a search of /var/log/Xorg.0.log shows that DRM does
not load

Apparently, relative to the breakage of wireless functionality (I have iwp2200
and linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-21-generic (2.6.24-21.31) did break my
wireless), the latest update to
linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-21-generic (2.6.24-21.30) to 2.6.24-21.32
and kernel update fixed the problem.

of all the updates and upgrades why is it that my kernel is still not
syncing? kernel panic and need to reboot, press esc until I can boot
with an old kernel. soo now that I have "fixed" the kernel panic
twice in the terminal and Ubuntu updates I have to do it all over again.
