Actually this thread which has initially been opened for a failed URL found in
the Ubuntu translator, has become a summary of the needed options in it.
These necessary options has already been submitted to Wikipedia, Knol and so
on, without a real ultimate dictionary of reference.

The Ubuntu default dictionary,
when we try to add an entry,
isn't present in the initial list,
show us an unlinked URL.
Moreover, this dictionary has to be upgraded with :

1) Yes, we can see in the translators that there isn't any shortcut for
updates.
2) Before its addition, we can only find the Internet site of the source
mentioned : http://www.freedict.com/.
Once connected, in "privacy policy",
"http://www.advertising.com/privacy/index.html"; => not found.
