I booted the computer and XAA freezed, just like EXA. :-) Whatever.
The workaround is clear: just boot X with second monitor unplugged
first.

More findings: when performing boot by turning the computer on, the
driver freezes with EXA. I have to unplug the second monitor, boot to X,
replug the monitor, restart X and then it works correctly. With XAA it
works correctly right from the beginning. One more reason for me to stop
putting random
Thanks for testing. Yes, the MergedFB must be something you put there
yourself. The default xorg.conf should not have any such options. We
hope EXA becomes the default soon.

Okay, direct rendering works, so toying with the DRI option is
meaningless. I tried to uncomment the EXA acceleration method and it
works correctly! So the cause of the freeze was probably the MergedFB
option. Anyway, now it works for me so I think the bug is fixed.
