addendum:
reactivating the shadows in the current KDE4 Session solves the issue too.
It seems to be a bug in kwin-kde4.
Could sb telll me. how backtrace this behaviour both in fglrx and kwin-
kde4?

fglrx works quite nice with the Kwin-kde4 window manager.
- Even suspend works (thx!!)
+ Even suspend works (partly...)
But after awaking the PC the Kwin-kde4 draws ugly white
