Are the two lines commented out (is there a semicolon before them)? Editing
the lines fixed any problems I had, but I don't remember if they were
commented or not. Another thing to try is set the resample-method to
speex-float-0. Again, make sure the line is not commented out.

The suggestion to alter two settings in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf, specifically:
default-fragments = 8
default-fragment-size-msec = 5

FYI, about the clicking and popping, go to pulseaudio's website and follow
the instructions for Skype perfect setup. They involve editing
/etc/pulse/daemon.conf and fix the issues for other progs as well.

seems like a more reasonable target than final release as this isn't
considered a critical bug.

Using 0.9.13 from luke's PPA for just over a week now and it seems
stable. I've not noticed any crashes of pulseaudio or any crashes of
other programs that look like they could be blamed on it. Some notes:
Latency is way down in comparison to 0.9.10.

not able to share my sound card with

upcoming release: the main feature seems to be the "glitch-free" aspect

Luke has done a great job with 0.9.10 and I have no regressions.
(Ubuntu 32 bit, Audigy2 and USB output to a sound system)

I don't think this is a good Idea. There are enough problems that make
both versions not suitable for a stable release.
It will be the best if we wait for pulseaudio 0.9.13-14, I think.

Okay, I have to edit my last statement. Suddenly I am now getting
crackling and pops with two audio streams playing at once. In this case
rhythmbox and pidgin playing sound at the same time. Reverting to
Intrepid's current pulseaudio resolved that issue.

resolve the random latency and crackling issues I had with pulseaudio in hardy.
CPU usage remains at about 2 percent while audio plays although running
