What's the status on this?
Shouldn't this be a trivial thing?
It's either licensed GPL or it's licensed BSD.
If it's dual licensed, simply pick one (Debian will likely pick GPL), and move
on.
This is one of the biggest things keeping me from routinely using Ubuntu.
Arch and Gentoo both have this
The new release is out. Any hope for an inclusion?

bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=489768 ), but is not in the Debian archives, has
no maintainer, and appears to be making no progress.
License confusion: Sourceforge claims BSD License, while the Debian
request claims GPL.
