Works well for me too. Did you try to save any other file in your home directory? Were you able to do that? Because I feel some other settings would have altered the permissions and hence this problem. Couldn't be a SpeedCrunch issue. -- SpeedCrunch doesn't save the config https://bugs.launchpad.
