I have the same problem in Ubuntu 9.04. it seems that problem in all
program in fullscreen mode such as all video player in Ubuntu 9.04.

I have same problem when browsing in fullscreen mode. My Firefox version
is now 3.0.5 and I'm using Ubuntu 8.04. Screen flashes not only when
context menu shows up but also when I mouse over some object and this
'little description text' shows up. I don't know exact term for this

and red stripes then corrects itself whenever a new page is opened in
full screen mode.
