Same problem here (Hardy).
Python2.5 version 2.5.2-2ubuntu5 is installed and there isn't the corresponding
version of python-dev (latest version is 2.5.2-2ubuntu4.1).

Why is this marked as invalid?
If manually installing the deb file fixes this shouldn't this be an easy fix to
correct the repositories?

Further to this, I think somehow something on our local systems is
broken, as we've been running hardy-proposed, and a python2.5 has been
pulled out at some point. We need to fix this up by hand installing the
packages from the archive.

I can certainly confirm this also.
What makes this all the more confusing, is that there is 2.5.2-2ubuntu4
version of the python2.5 source package in the archive, however
python2.5 and python2.5-minimal at the least, have 2.5.2-2ubuntu5.

I cannot reproduce this problem. When I look at the versions of
python2.5-dev and python2.5,, I see both versions (2.5.2-2ubuntu4 and

Could it be that it was just a temporary issue in the repository whil
