I can understand you that you are frustrated. I try to clean the old
bugs, so my question is which Ubuntu version do you use now and if this
problem still exists I'll mark this bug as confirmed hopefully you will
get more attention.

Unfortunately installing libtool does not solve the problem for me, maybe there
is something else missing?

I saw that some symbols were missing, especially AM_PROG_LIBTOOL. Looking this
up on the web it appeared that I did not install libtool.
After installing libtool the breakpoints do seem to work properly.

It's not possible to set a breakpoint in a way that it actually works
with kdevelop 3.5.1...
It worked a few months ago, but I had to deleop for a certain time in
visual studio on my xp box, so I can't tell exactly when it stopped
working.
