Well this guy can still use his laptop's speakers, and mine don't work. But
we both can't use external speakers or headphones. It seems pretty similar,

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable
When I upgraded and rebooted, at the loading screen that says Ubuntu and
has the bar going across, the screen would go black and nothing would
happen no matter how many times I rebooted or how long I waited. So, I
just reinstalled Ubuntu using the disk I had.

Oh... sorry about the openoffice files. I'll put all the attachments up
