The Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Beta release was most recently announced -

Ubuntu kernel. It would be great if you could test and verify if this is
still an issue. The status is being set to Incomplete until we receive
further feedback. Th
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable
I have the same problem. It is ok if I load the old hardy kernel

i resolved the problem in a different way. i worked on the audio canals
and i resolved it for the moment

i think that this problem is due to wrong audio settings, but i don't
know what they were before the upgrade to intrepid and so i can't tell
which of them are causing this problem

everything is at the maximum but the sound stll comes out from a sort of
internal speaker instead of my speakers. i noticed also that when i open
a video with WinFF the sound comes out from my speakers normally

(Assuming you have the Gnome desktop) try launching the mixer by double-
clicking the speaker icon at the right of the bar at the top of the
screen and make sure the "Master" and "PCM" sliders are at maximum.
