I guess it's like "Debian stable" and "Debian sid" where "Debian sid" is
synonymous with "Debian unstable".

It's not such a big problem though, opera has its own repo: just add
http://deb.opera.com/opera/ sid non-free
to your sources list. Works fine and it always gives you the latest
opera.

OK, so I'll give you another bump. :)
I just downloaded the 64bit version from their website and it's
fantastic! A couple of flash apps that never worked with FF are suddenly
working. And it has very nice features. Sure FF has lots of add-ons and
is also a good browser, but opera is a fantastic al

Are you running Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit? Apparently that's the reason that Opera is
not appearing for me since they only offer 9.27 and x86_64 builds were released
with Opera 9.5+.
For now it seems you'll just have to manually download Opera from opera.com,
but you can read some dis
Sorry, silly question: how do I get opera from the repos? I can't find
it even if I add the partner repos.
As to this issue, I would really support this request. Opera is
currently much more stable than Firefox, especially for flash
applications.

Who is in charge of keeping Opera up-to-date for Ubuntu? This update
request doesn't seem to be making a difference. We need to get this
updated for Ubuntu 8.10. There's no reason for it not to be updated when
Opera has the deb files easily downloadable from the Opera.com/download
page.
