full screen when turned on.

If I use the ATI 8.5 drivers (http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/linux
/linux-radeon.html) when I change appearance options to "normal" or"
extra" I get a blank whitescreen like a lockup - however If i hit "esc"
it reverts to "none" again and everything seems to work as it should
