For me WPA works fine with hardy, kernel 2.6.24-23-generic and Intel
2200BG, Edimax EW7318USB
These use the built-in drivers, where both heartsmagic and Marlon Milla
seem to have been using ndiswrapper and wpa supplicant.

I also have the same problem with Intrepid. When booting the system
connecting to WPA never works. I need to disable WIFI with the switch
and after some random tries finaly it connects with WPA.
The old versions of Ubuntu worked ok with this connection in the same

Is the kernel 2.6.27 on alpha5 different then the one come with the
upgrade or alpha4? Because i added last reports here and they tried
Intrepid and 2.6.27 with those cards.

For those wanting to test but not upgrade their systems to the pre-
release Intrepid, the best solution is to test Alpha5 via a LiveCD.
You should be able to then test the newer 2.6.27 kernel without

With a Asus WL-138G card, 2.6.27 is not working. One minute after the
connection, system drops the connection again.
With 2.6.26 there is not such a problem.

We can't recommend upgrading Intrepid Ibex as a Locoteam for new or
inexperienced users. So what is the solution for Hardy?
I'll ask Intrepid users to upgrade their kernel version to 2.6.27.

There is a user reporting that he couldn't connect a WPA encrypted
connection with Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG card which is
exactly same as mine. I am on Intrepid and he is on Hardy. So, i think
this issue has solved with Intrepid packages but i dont know which one
it is.
