I'm going to confirm this issue based on the fact that as you said it
didn't do anything when you used the --start-hidden option in gusty. I'm
not sure if it is the developers intention to make it so only the icon
appears or if nothing at all is suppose to appear. I'll update the bug

Yes, that's what happens, but it used to show nothing at all on the

When I use the --start-hidden option I get the blue icon in the task bar
rather then the full UI come up... Is this what happens for you?
