I have the same problem: when resuming from sleep, PS/2 keyboard is
frozen. The USB tablet pen works, though. Logging out and back in (i.e.
restarting X) fixes this, as does reboot. Ubuntu 9.04, desktop with
mot

Find this line:
# kopt=root=UUID* ro
Change to this (leave the # at the beginning!):
# kopt=root=UUID* ro i8042.reset=1
$ sudo update-grub
