the change from 'ucs-latex' to 'texlive-latex-recommended' is already
applied to
ipe (6.0pre30-5) unstable; urgency=low
* debian/control: Adjust dependencies for freetype
Could you please point to a discussion where Debian guys reject this
change?

why is the suggest change right for ubuntu and not debian? ubuntu has no
latex changes

seem to be active, could you send those to the debian bts
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ContributingToDebian) so maybe the package can
be synced on debian?
