Looks like 2.6.24-19 fixes the hibernate issue for me. Thanks so much
for all your hard work, Ubuntu devs and bug reporters! I'm still having
issues with suspend-to-RAM, which I plan to look into next.

On my machine Kernel 2.6.24-19 allows again resuming both from suspend
to ram and from hibernate : it solves the bug for me.

It looks like this bug is a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/226279, even though the
title of this other bug only mentions suspend to ram, people there report that
both resume from hibernate and resume from suspend to ram are broken.
Sadly, this bug was reported
I have the same problem with the same kernel, I have splash disabled on
boot and it just stays at "resuming", and after waiting for 20 minutes
it still hasn't done anything.

I can also confirm that the upgrade to 2.6.24-17 has broken resume for
me, it worked perfectly on 2.6.24-16. I am running x86-64 on an Intel
G31 based mobo with onboard Intel graphics.

I can also confirm this issue with the latest kernel upgrade to 2.6.24-17 : no
resume after hibernate, the systems hangs with exactly the same symptoms and
messages as Péter describes above. To recover, I need to force shutdown with
the power button. Same problem when resuming from suspend to
I seem to be having the same problem. I'll attach some more information
when I get round to it...
