I installed both ubuntu 8.10 and kubuntu 8.10 on a dell inspiron 5150
laptop. The wireless performance is both is very poor. Max throughput
using wpa seems to be 1.5mb/sec and maybe a little higher using wep. I
tried default drivers and the legacy broadcom driver. The throughput
was the same.
I'm marking this "Fix Released" per @henry2man's previous comment.
@sewmyeadon, since you are the original bug reporter, if this is not

With Intepid Ibex it looks there isn't any problem. My ipw2200bg works

Really slow internet connection while connecting via wireless to my router.
My kernel is 2.6.27. it still remains.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

With Hardy sometimes the NetworkManager drops the wireless connection. Until
now it was enough to click again on the wireless network, but recently it's
getting worse and I have to restart the pc.
(Or maybe I should try unloading and reloading the module)
