I have this problem also-- Green bar across the bottom with Totem
Gstreamer and VLC.
VLC works correctly if video deinterlace is set to "Bob" or "Blend".

I see something similar in all video that uses ffmpeg with totem and
VLC, but not mplayer (which presumably has its own codecs). Only mine is
a green bar at the top, and vertical streaking (like the red and blue
components are shifted downwards). I'll do some more investigation, and
probably file a
