I just updated my intrepid install (amd64) and pidgin was removed
completely.

the update seems to be correct, you can drop the gaim transitional binary
though since hardy which is the new lts is already using the new naming so
there is no transition required now
the changelog also doesn't list the bug number, and shouldn't the symbol lists
be updated to use the epoch numb
