This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are

Have you tried the kernel from Karmic? It may have fixed the problem on
my C700, but I'm not sure yet (takes a while to "prove" a negative...)

I am currently experiencing this problem with Jaunty Jackalope, on a
Compaq C700 (C715NR). The monitors work great on boot, but after I
hibernate and resume, I get this:

No, I've got a serial number and a part number on the underside, but
"c700" _is_ the specific model number. (Part number KX530AV) I expect

I'm guessing we have the same laptop. There's a more specific model
number on the underside if you take a look.
Exactly the same symptoms though; I can confirm that a cold boot works
fine, although since I got Hardy the sensor reports 0C until it warms up
a little, then it changes. From hibernate
I have the same problem with a Compaq Presario c700. cat
/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ01/temperature returns 0C, and the fans don't
turn on. Restarting acpid had no effect; same with unloading/reloading
the 'thermal' module. The only thing that seems to work is a
hibernate/resume cycle once it's wa
