We really should list the problematic characters:
l:I (lower el, upper eye)
O:0 (upper oh, zero)
Any others? When we have a list I will go through some open source fonts
and make a recommendation. What else is important in a default font?

Using Droid Sans as the default font would solve this. :] And it's open-
source, so it's fine.

Bitstream Vera Sans Mono is included, and it is easy to read:

The Luxi mono just stinks, though. lowercase L and the number 1 both
look the same :P

I'm not sure this is a fixable bug, as some people like it that way..
I don't remember ever having a problem reading because of this.
This should be posted on brainstorm, let's see what other people think.
