I have reinstalled Ubuntu completely again, using the latest RC. This bug does
still occur to me.

Does anyone else have this same problem? I'll need to reinstall my
machine to see if something got messed up, but currently my machine
saves attachments that are opened in openoffice.org into /tmp with only
the user read bit set which solves this problem. Why it doesn't do this
for everyone I am no

Maybe you are doing something weird on your system so that the document
opened via evolution isn't put into read-only mode?!

I'm not sure why this was reopened but as I already stated when you open
a document from Evolution in OpenOffice.org it is read-only mode so it
is very evident that you have to put it into edit mode then when you try
to save it defaults to your Documents directory...

Reopening this bug!
This bug is prevalent in the latest hardy version again, and it is
absolutely critical.
When you open a, say, OOo Writer .odt file from Evolution, you are no
longer warned in Writer that it is only a temporary file and you have to
create a copy of it
This is already done in current version of Ubuntu by Evolution, Firefox
and probably other programs.
