Just found a solution.
it looks like sonypi handles the scrolling correctly, but sony-laptop
doesn't.
blacklisting the sony-laptop module fixes it.

I have ended up crazy gluing the scroll wheel so it doesn't move, and
just using the vertical scrolling.
