Just a quick update. You can scratch of the SATA to IDE adapter as being part of the problem. I attached the IDE disk directly to one of the IDE ports on the motherboard and I still got the same issue. I can boot perfectly with 2.6.24-19 but 2.6.27 results in all of the above messages... Just a qu
